Services for People with Disabilities

Mission Statement

Providing employers a qualified untapped pool of candidates with disabilities.

Arlington Heights Office of the Illinois Worknet Center is the gateway to a network of partners offering exceptional employment resources and services for both job seekers and employers.
Services offered: resume critique, employment counseling services and pre-screening. The Business and Employer Services Team is your key to preparing for the competitive workforce.

Services for Job Seekers include:

  • Personal assessments and job referral
    assistance.
  • Job training, GED, vocational and
    technical
  • Unemployment insurance
  • Computer classes: Basic computer training.
  • Educational Retraining Funds: Educational retraining and training funds to help jobseekers
    return to the Workforce. Inquire in the resource room to be pre-screened for the grant.
  • Job Club: Offered through worNet: salary negotiating, interviewing, job search tips and
    secrets, resume and cover letter information.
  • A comprehensive resource directory of local, state and national resources such as: employment,
    entrepreneurship & small business, advocacy, scholarships, financial literacy, and occupational
    information.
  • Organizations and Businesses Dedicated to Helping People with Disabilities, rack posts information such as: timely employment workshops, job fairs, career transition events, networking breakfasts, job development training courses, and empowerment articles.
