Career Stimulus Program - Harper College Main Campus

Event Description: Career Stimulus is a monthly support group designed for those who have been laid off or are in the midst of a career transition amid the ongoing economic recession.

This unique program combines expert speakers with networking round tables and breakout sessions on job-hunting help and interview tips.

“This is the perfect outlet for those who feel like they’re at the end of their rope,” Adult Learning Special Assistant Nancy Wajler says. “We’re hitting the career transition from every angle and empowering people to successfully take the next step.”

Cost
The majority of the program is grant-funded, however, a small fee is charged to participants to help cover costs.

The first session you attend is free. To attend additional sessions, choose from two options:

Pay Per Session Option: $10
Includes one full-day Career Stimulus Session.

Membership Option: $85
Includes 12 months of free Career Stimulus sessions with Harper's career coach, free entry to the NetWorthing I and Networthing II seminars, a free book and 5 assessment surveys.

Based on research conducted by the Gallup institute, this course helps you to answer the question, “What’s Right with You?” The field of “Positive Psychology” focuses on helping ordinary people to learn the secret of the truly successful: how to operate in your areas of strength and manage your weaknesses. You will be given a code to allow you to complete the Strengthsfinder 2.0 assessment online. The results will give you new insight into who you are and what areas of strength you could offer an employer. Basic computer skills and a working email address are required. Limit 10 students.
